SEO, or search engine optimisation, refers to the optimisation of a website for search engines. It covers a set of techniques aimed at improving your position in search engine results pages. The goal: attract more qualified visitors by making your site visible on Google, Bing and the rest.
A good SEO strategy rests on three fundamental pillars.
Technical SEO. Optimising your site's structure and performance, including loading speed and mobile compatibility, so search engines can crawl and index your pages properly.
On-page SEO (content). Producing quality content based on relevant keyword research, written to meet what people are actually looking for, which improves your ranking in the results.
Off-page SEO (link building). Earning quality backlinks, which makes your site more credible in Google's eyes.
A well-crafted SEO strategy increases your organic traffic and brings in visitors who are genuinely interested in what you sell.
Three levers. Which one moves your rankings depends on what is holding them back, which is what an audit is for.
01
Technical SEO
Making the site readable and fast: crawling, indexing, page speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data and redirects. Plus the mistakes that quietly keep pages out of the index.

Schema and indexing
02
Local SEO
The map pack and "near me" searches. Google Business Profile, service areas, reviews, citations and location pages that actually say something about the area.

Reviews and citations
03
Content
Pages written for what people actually search, mapped so they do not compete with each other. One page per service, per intent, not a blog nobody asked for.

Service and area pages
Rewrites of pages that underperform
Why work with me
You deal with me
The person you brief is the person building your site, so your ideas, goals and vision stay at the heart of every decision.
Enquiries, not impressions
Rankings and traffic are the means. Reporting shows calls and forms, and which pages produced them.
Nothing you cannot stop
Work in stages, with no twelve-month lock-in. If it is not producing you should be able to walk away.
Nothing that risks the site
No bought links, no spun pages, no tricks that work until an update lands and takes your rankings with it.
SEO pricing depends on how competitive your industry is, where you are starting from and how quickly you want to grow. Most UK small businesses invest on a monthly retainer and my SEO plans typically start from £200 per month. Rather than sell a fixed package, I look at your site and your competitors first, then recommend the right level of work. Get in touch for a free review and a clear quote.
How long does it take to see SEO results?
SEO is a long game, not a switch you flip. Most businesses start to see meaningful movement in three to six months, with the biggest gains from six months onwards. Newer websites, or those in competitive markets, can take up to a year to reach their full potential. Anyone promising you page one in a week is not being honest.
Do I still need SEO if I am running Google Ads?
They do different jobs. Google Ads buys you visibility instantly but stops the moment you stop paying. SEO builds visibility that keeps working over time and earns the organic clicks that most people trust more than adverts. Used together they are powerful, ads for quick wins, SEO for long-term, lower-cost traffic.
What is included in your monthly SEO service?
A typical month covers keyword and competitor research, on-page optimisation, technical fixes, content work and quality link building. On top of that comes clear reporting on rankings, traffic and enquiries. I tailor the mix to what will move the needle for your business and you will always know what was done and why.
What is SEO?
SEO stands for search engine optimisation. It is the process of improving your website so it ranks higher in Google's unpaid (organic) results for the terms your customers are searching. Better rankings mean more of the right people find you without you paying for every click.
What are the most important factors for ranking on Google?
Google weighs hundreds of signals, but the ones that matter most are: relevant, high-quality content that answers the searcher's question; a fast, secure, mobile-friendly website; trustworthy links from other reputable sites; and a good user experience. These fundamentals evolve, which is why SEO is an ongoing process rather than a one-off task.
What is local SEO?
Local SEO helps your business show up when people nearby search for what you offer, for example "plumber near me" or "accountant in Clapham". It focuses on your Google Business Profile, local listings, reviews and location-specific pages and it is essential for any business that serves customers in a particular area.
Does social media affect my SEO?
Not directly, social media likes and shares are not a ranking factor in themselves. But they help indirectly: an active presence builds brand awareness, drives traffic to your site and gets your content in front of people who may link to it, all of which support your SEO over time.
